Why do I need Jesus?

God created humans to live with Him. God is perfect, but all humans are sinful (Romans 3:23). Even if we have sinned only once, we cannot live with a perfect and holy God. There’s nothing humans can do to make ourselves perfect. Good news, God loves humans so much that He sent Jesus to live the perfect life none of us could live (John 3:16). When Jesus died on the cross, He took all our sin upon himself. When we trust that Christ’s death on the cross takes away our sin, God credits Christ’s perfection to us, and we can live with Him forever.

What happens if I reject Jesus?

The Bible tells us that humans who reject Jesus as their Savior and Lord will suffer eternal punishment and permanent separation from God (2 Thessalonians 1:8-9).

How do I receive Jesus as my Savior and Lord?

*Believe that Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures; And that he was buried, and that he rose again the third day according to the scriptures (1 Corinthians 15:3-4).

*Believe, that only Jesus is the way to God. Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me (John 14:6).

I believe that Jesus alone is Savior and Lord. Now what?

*Listen to the Holy Spirit. God promises to send the Spirit to all who belong to Jesus (Romans 8:9). The Holy Spirit dwells with each believer and teaches us God’s ways as we follow Jesus (John 14:23-26).

*Trust that in Christ, you are sealed by the Holy Spirit for the day when all believers will be resurrected to eternal life with God (Ephesians 4:30). We will receive resurrected bodies, just as Christ lives in a resurrected body (1 Corinthians 15:52-54).

*Turn away from living for this life and from trusting in your own efforts, your own beliefs, false religions, and the things of this world to save you and make you happy (Acts 2:38, 2 Chronicles 7:14).

*Live as a child of God, talking with Him continually in prayer. Study the Bible daily. Worship God and pursue friendship with other believers. Try joining a local church.

*Do as Christ commands in His great commission, and tell everyone about Jesus. Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost: Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo, I am with you always, even unto the end of the world. Amen (Matthew 28:19-20).
